Job Summary
Underwrite and supervise a portion of an underwriter's book of business by evaluating, classifying, and rating risks to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing. Log applications, prepare binders, process policies and endorsements, and bind risk while posting invoices and processing technical data. Screen renewal applications to send renewal letters and perform underwriting for underwriter approval. Assist with new business development, order inspections, handle endorsement requests, and manage relationships with retail agents by following up on outstanding information. Achieve full underwriting authority through continued education and professional development. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of Underwriting support or industry experience with excess and surplus lines
- Demonstrated proficiency and previous experience in sales and marketing
- Proven organization skills and ability with a strong attention to detail
- Interest in continued education and professional development to obtain full underwriting authority
