Job Summary
Oversee maintenance on wind turbines by performing routine preventive and unscheduled maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Troubleshoot repairs, generate required reports, and recognize wind turbine error codes to support site operations. Assist with high-voltage system maintenance while adhering to safety standards, including Lock Out Tag Out procedures and rescue protocols. Work alongside senior technicians to learn advanced troubleshooting and repair skills. Requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and the physical ability to climb 300 ft towers daily in extreme weather. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to read and interpret documents, and follow instructions, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
- Ability to deal with problems involving at least one concrete variable in standardized situations
- Must be able to pass a physical exam and drug/alcohol screening
- Must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus because of potential work in close confines
- Employee must be physically fit enough to free climb 300 ft multiple times a day while wearing 25+ lbs. of climbing gear and work in extreme weather conditions
- Must be capable of rescuing teammates anywhere in the tower in the event of an emergency
- Must be able to use a Personal Fall Arrest System when climbing a wind turbine
