Job Summary
Create and update machine operation manuals, standard operating procedures, and training materials for equipment designs. Develop assembly work instructions and audio/video content while interpreting engineering drawings and regulatory data. Manage document revisions, change-control activities, and language-translation coordination across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams. Participate in design reviews and concurrent product-development activities with internal and external customers. Evaluate new documentation formats to improve customer experience. This role supports Winpak's vision of providing innovative, sustainable packaging solutions for food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical communication, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ year of technical writing experience
- Ability to translate technical information for audiences with different levels of expertise
- Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret technical and regulatory documentation
- Experience with document revision and change-control processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, plus Adobe applications
- Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds and work in office and manufacturing environments, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Full-time, non-exempt position based 100% onsite in Rialto, California
- Schedule and shift will be confirmed during the recruitment process; overtime may be required based on business needs
- Travel is generally not required
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with noise, moving equipment, flying debris, temperature changes, and required personal protective equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience documenting automated or custom-manufactured machinery
- Experience with SolidWorks, Autodesk, product data management, Adobe Photoshop, or audio/video production tools
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and machinery-related safety or regulatory standards
- Familiarity with failure mode and effects analysis, Lean manufacturing, standard work, 5S, statistical process control, or Six Sigma
