Job Summary
The Associate Teacher assists in the supervision, development, and education of children at the Toyon Center, focusing on a Dual Language Immersion EHS program. Responsibilities include planning and implementing lesson plans, maintaining a safe environment, communicating with parents, and supervising staff. Candidates must have an Associate Teacher Permit, bi-literate in Spanish, and CPR/First Aid certification. Experience working with young children is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Associate Teacher Permit or higher credential
- Immunization records that comply with Senate Bill 792
- Required CPR/First Aid Training Certification
- 16 hours of health and safety training including 1 hour of nutrition training
- Required to be a mandated abuse reporter
- Must pass a health screening and TB test
- Must pass background fingerprint clearance
- Valid Driver License
- Must be 18 years or older
- The ability to lift up to 30lbs may be needed during some job duties
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year prior experience in working with young children is preferred
- Bi-Literate in Spanish (required) and/or Mandarin, Vietnamese (preferred)
