Job Summary
Associate Teacher at Primrose School of Hixson supports supervision of a group of children, plans and implements ongoing activities promoting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in line with the Primrose Balanced Learning approach. Responsibilities include enforcing health and safety rules, delivering approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule, maintaining an attractive classroom, providing verbal recognition and consistent expectations, performing housekeeping duties, maintaining professional appearance per handbook, and assisting the Director or designee as needed. Experience in teaching or assistant teaching in a licensed early childhood program is preferred. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs (infants-lifting considerations for Infant/Young Toddler roles). Required Qualifications
- Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency
- Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred
- Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
