Job Summary
Associate Teacher collaborates with the Teacher to plan and implement Head Start preschool activities, assists in all aspects of classroom operations, supports family involvement and parent engagement, and may assume the Teacher role during planning; duties include adhering to Head Start Performance Standards, maintaining CDA credential while pursuing an Associate’s degree, completing required First Aid/CPR and licensing training, and helping create a safe, developmentally appropriate learning environment for children from birth to five years old; strong teamwork, communication with families, and ability to follow program procedures are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with preschool children
- CDA credential
- Basic First Aid and CPR certification
- Maintain certification and licensing training
- Ability to work with children at all development levels
- Knowledge of Head Start and licensing requirements
- Ability to collaborate with parents and families
- Ability to follow directions and initiative
- Knowledge of classroom safety and developmentally appropriate practices
