Job Summary
Conduct land surveying work as a member of a survey party, utilizing state-of-the-art robotic and GNSS instruments under direct supervision. Perform physical tasks such as driving stakes, digging, and brushing while making field adjustments within specified limits. Take field notes, create sketches, and complete CAD drafting under supervision. Interpret maps, drawings, diagrams, and Civil plan sheets to check plans, maps, calculations, and specifications. This full-time, 40-hour week requires a valid California Driver's License and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Survey software. Local and out-of-town travel is necessary for this outdoor role in Chico, CA.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years full time experience as an Assistant Technician
- Experience with the use of personal computers, word processing and spreadsheet software, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Trimble Survey software
- Experience as a field survey crew member and experience in the operation of field survey equipment
- Possession of a valid California Driver's License and clean DMV record
- Local and some out of town travel is required
Desired Qualifications
- Strong math skills, preferably with course work in Geometry and Trigonometry
- Course work in geomatics or land surveying
- Previous experience working on construction sites and familiarity with construction activities, hazards and safety measures
