Job Summary
Direct curriculum and instruction policy development across core academic areas, fine arts, and English language learner programs. Monitor operations of special education, counseling, and professional development initiatives while analyzing test data to refine instructional programs. Coordinate campus improvement planning, budget administration, and grant applications to support district strategic goals. Lead Instructional Leadership Teams, visit every campus for needs assessment, and align course offerings with state guidelines. Provide active leadership to staff on best practices and data-driven decision-making to ensure continuous improvement in student achievement.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Principal certification (EC-12)
- Knowledge of instructional programs in McAllen ISD schools
- Knowledge of local, state and federal rules and regulations as pertains to certified personnel
- Knowledge of current theory, research and practices in curriculum and instruction
- Experience in leading and monitoring district and/or campus improvement planning and budgeting, including the related compliance issues regarding the planning, documentation and use of federal funds
- Successful experience in leading educational systems resulting in improved student achievement
- Successful experience in leading programs and services that support high levels of success for all learners, including special education, English Language Learners and others with unique learning needs
Desired Qualifications
- Superintendent certification
- Central office experience
- Principal experience (3 years)
- Experience in leading and monitoring district and/or campus improvement planning and budgeting, including the related compliance issues regarding the planning, documentation and use of federal funds
