Job Summary
The Associate/Sr. Associate in Government Affairs will engage with local, state, and federal legislative bodies to represent and safeguard Vanda's business interests. Responsibilities include researching government activities impacting the organization, drafting correspondence, coordinating meetings, and assisting in strategic planning related to regulatory activities. The role demands excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with a preference for candidates having strong government contacts. A Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in advocacy or public policy are required.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Public Relations, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in advocacy or public policy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated; ability to adapt within a dynamic environment
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and set own priorities, while maintaining accuracy and attention to details
Desired Qualifications
- Strong government contacts at local, state, and federal levels
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
