Job Summary
Associate, Specialty Leasing role focused on learning to identify and develop local leasing tenants and income sources for shopping center properties, negotiate lease agreements to meet financial goals, coordinate SL program administration, and support in-line leasing. Responsibilities include locating potential SL tenants, attending trade shows, canvassing for retailers, building relationships with prospective tenants and mall management, negotiating terms, monitoring occupancy and rent collection, preparing regular reports, and assisting in national and multi-mall SL deals. Requires a bachelor’s degree in a business field, 1–2 years of relevant experience, strong negotiation and communication skills, and willingness to travel occasionally.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a business related discipline
- One or two years of general business, sales, leasing or retail experience
- Basic math and accounting skills
- Well-developed interpersonal and negotiating skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Resourcefulness, creativity and a well-developed awareness of design principles
