Job Summary
As an Associate Specialist- Carrier Procurement at RXO, you will source, negotiate, and secure carriers to move available freight in a timely and cost-effective manner. Cultivate strong core carrier relationships while negotiating and securing carriers to move freight; maintain continuous communication with carriers and customers to ensure high-quality freight movement; inform all parties of route changes, delays, or freight concerns; schedule pickup and delivery times with consideration to factors like weather, traffic, and service rules; follow procedures regarding HVS and HRC loads to protect shipment integrity; maintain information in company operating systems; conduct research in databases for potential leads and make cold calls; and track back-end billing and invoicing to ensure carrier charges are accurate.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of procurement experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
- 1 year of transportation experience
- 2 years of sales or customer service experience
- The ability to exercise judgment and discretion while functioning independently within authorized limits
