Job Summary
Associate Software Engineer role within STR's Sensors Division SAAM group focused on transforming advanced concepts and algorithms into real-time software for prototypes and operational systems. You will collaborate with scientists and engineers to design and implement algorithmic solutions, enhance software architecture for real-time hardware, and contribute to engineer-facing tools and processes to support long-term software development. Responsibilities include implementing and testing real-time applications with open architecture software principles, integrating mature hardware systems, leveraging advanced algorithms, and supporting testing across M&S and live test activities. Required skills include strong C++ OO programming, test-driven development, CI/CD, cross-platform development (Windows, Linux, iOS), MATLAB/Python proficiency, and the ability to obtain an active security clearance. PAY: Full-Time Salary Range: $93,000 - $115,000. Locations include Arlington, VA; San Diego, CA; and Woburn, MA with on-site work at each office.
Required Qualifications
- BS with 2+ years experience or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Strong object-oriented programming skills in modern C++
- Proficient in test-driven development and CI/CD practices
- Experience with cross-platform development (Windows, Linux, iOS) and version control workflows
- Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, for which U.S citizenship is needed by the U.S government
