Job Summary
Develop and maintain scalable software applications, app components, and services using Java and .NET, while contributing to system integrations and building Power BI reporting solutions. Assist in designing APIs, backend services, and data exchange processes with databases and cloud services, then test, support, and monitor application performance to resolve discrepancies. Collaborate with Product Owners and senior engineers to build features that support downstream users, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements. Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and CI/CD activities to deliver reliable, secure, and high-quality digital products.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or experience within a related discipline
- 1 to 3 years of experience in software engineering, application development, business intelligence or related technical roles, gained through commercial experience, internships or academic projects
- Foundational Java and/or .NET (C#) development skills
- Working knowledge of Power BI report development, dashboards and data modelling concepts
- Good SQL skills and understanding of relational databases
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycles and application architecture
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Good communication, stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to software quality
- Good documentation and technical writing skills
- Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn modern software engineering technologies and practices
- Based in Warwick
Desired Qualifications
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals or Azure Developer Associate certification (desirable)
- Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification (desirable)
- Relevant software development, cloud or business intelligence certifications are advantageous
- Exposure to cloud platforms and services, such as Microsoft Azure
- Familiarity with REST APIs, web services and application integration patterns
- Understanding of software testing, secure coding and quality assurance principles
- Exposure to DevOps practices and source control platforms
- Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies
