Job Summary
Complete shipments using the ERP system and/or tablet, then pull, package, and palletize products while ensuring all incoming and outgoing loads meet packaging and quality standards. Receive, stock, and rotate finished goods by identifying, tagging, storing, and locating inventory. Create and apply shipping labels, packing lists, and bills of lading for each pallet. Maintain a clean work environment and operate forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, and electric pallet jacks. Perform these duties in a loud environment with potential exposure to dust, heat, and wet conditions while lifting up to 50 pounds. This full-time, non-exempt role in Theodore, AL offers $19.00/hour, quarterly bonuses or commission, and includes Simpson Strong-Tie's 9 Principles of Business.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Simpson Strong-Tie Powered Industrial Truck Certification
- D.O.T. HazMat Training
- 0-3 months of warehouse, logistics, and/or shipping experience
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment
- Ability to consistently demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance in accordance with our attendance policy
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiple and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to follow both written and oral instructions, including safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to operate forklift, reach truck, order picker, and electric pallet jack
- Ability to prioritize safety by demonstrating safe work practices and promoting a safe work environment
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to work with other team members to accomplish group goals
- Ability to multi task and take initiative in a challenging, fast-paced environment
- Ability to speak in the most effective way to relay information to all departments and at all levels within the organization
- Listen and ask questions to ensure understanding
