Associate Senior Lead Engineer - Electrical

Job Summary
Lead complex electrical engineering design projects from scoping through verification for industrial machinery in printing, packaging, converting, and textile sectors. Develop electrical designs, drawings, and Bill of Materials based on customer requirements while coordinating with mechanical and controls teams to resolve integration challenges. Define project scope, manage engineering deliverables to schedule and budget, and guide junior and lead engineers through technical direction and regular feedback. Represent the GCC in design reviews and technical discussions with division engineering teams, ensuring compliance with UL508A, NFPA70E, and other safety standards. Perform risk assessments, prepare drawings and SRS documents, and provide technical support to customers and stakeholders. May require travel up to 15% annually.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- 15+ years of experience in Industrial Machineries/Equipment and discrete product machinery
- Experience with Printing, Packaging and Converting Machines OEMs
- Proficiency in calculation and selection of Motors, Servo Drives (Rockwell / Baumuller), AC Load calculations, and low and medium voltage switchgear systems in industrial control cabinets as per UL508A
- Familiarity with industrial control and protection schemes relevant to electrical distribution systems and motor controls
- Hands-on experience in preparing single and three-line diagrams, panel IGA & OGA drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, network drawings and design of wire runs
- Knowledge of electrical maintenance practices, machine operation principles, and standards for machinery control cabinets
- Expertise in major OEM motors, Servo Drive power supplies, motor controls, transformers, disconnect switches and protective relays
- Understanding of materials, components, and equipment used in electrical cabinets as per UL listed and CSA requirements
- Familiarity with NFPA70E and OSHA regulations related to electrical safety practices and procedures
- Knowledge of UL508A, IEC, NEMA, NEC, and other standards
- Experience designing and testing Safety Interlocks in compliance with safety standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and Zuken E3, including creating symbols, creating libraries, creating macros, 3D macros, and detailing drawings
- Capability in creating and updating functional specifications of machines and replacing obsolete electrical parts while maintaining design integrity
- Experience performing risk assessments and preparing drawings and SRS documents
- Knowledge of using a PLM tool for creating Bills of Materials and drawing release
- Mandatory Tool Skills: AutoCAD Electrical, Zuken E3, MS Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to study and understand existing machine functions
- Excellent CAD tool skills, experienced in using electrical CAD software
- Good documentation preparation and maintenance skills
- Effort and schedule adherence with error-free deliverables, requiring minimal oversight to deliver results
- Good problem-solving skills with technical issues in machine function
- Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
- Guiding and developing junior and lead engineers through regular feedback and technical direction
- Project execution and on-time delivery across concurrent assignments
- Providing technical support to customers and stakeholders
- Must be able to travel up to 15% each year based on requirements
