Associate/ Senior Associate, Molly Gibson’s Pioneering Business Unit (PBU))

Associate or Senior Associate at Flagship Pioneering’s Molly Gibson’s Pioneering Business Unit (PBU) will ideate, research, and refine novel venture hypotheses, validate key unknowns of biology or technology, and transition pressure-tested ideas into building a NewCo around the science. You will help drive company origination from the early stages including identifying and recruiting critical partners and advisors, establishing foundational IP, hiring and leading the early scientific team, and setting working norms and culture. You will partner with stakeholders across the Flagship ecosystem to bring the full Flagship experience to support your companies. A successful candidate will become the expert on foundational science, frame strategy, and translate that strategy into a plan and lead operationalization alongside a Principal or Partner on the venture creation team. The ideal candidate has a STEM-based PhD or MD and 2+ years of life sciences biotech, startup or entrepreneurial activities, with skills in rapidly becoming conversant in new areas of science, defining value propositions, understanding IP landscape, and leading an entrepreneurial, fast-paced team. Proficiency in communicating to technical and non-technical audiences, familiarity with multiple therapeutic modalities, and strong collaboration and leadership capabilities are expected. The salary range is $155,000 - $190,000 with comprehensive benefits.”,
