Job Summary
Associate, Scoring Services evaluate responses to test questions for California teacher candidates, internalize scoring standards, participate in consensus scoring with other scorers, and discuss bias mitigation strategies (e.g., implicit, cultural, leniency, halo bias). Scorers must meet quality and productivity requirements and may score remotely from Sacramento, CA, with sessions during weekdays (8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.), training provided, and intermittent scoring workload (8–24 hours/month for some subjects; 4–7 hours/month for others). Starting rate is $17.50/hour with remote work options.
Required Qualifications
- Teaching Credential in California corresponding to the content field
- Teaching experience in California (3+ years) or higher education instructor in CA for content field
- Authorization to teach in CA public schools in content field and CA resident
- Graduate degree or bachelor’s degree with relevant experience and CA residency
- Graduate student teaching in CA in content field or CTC-approved scorer
- CTC-approved scorer or CTC-approved member of test development/standard setting panel
- Current eligibility to work in the United States in California
