Job Summary
Associate, Scoring Services roles involve evaluating responses to test questions from New York teacher candidates, internalizing scoring standards, and collaborating with other scorers to reach consensus scoring. You will recognize and discuss bias (implicit, cultural, leniency, central tendency, halo) and apply strategies to mitigate biases. You must meet established quality and productivity requirements and pass a qualifying test before scoring. The position offers remote work in the United States with a starting rate of $17.50 per hour. Key duties include evaluating scored responses, engaging in scoring discussions, ensuring confidentiality, and maintaining high accuracy and efficiency. Eligible candidates must hold a current teaching certification in the subject area or have recent teaching/practical experience in the content area, or possess a relevant degree with recent professional experience in the field; basic computer skills and ability to sit for extended periods are required.
Required Qualifications
- A current teaching certification in the subject area you are applying for AND are currently teaching or have taught in schools (public or private) within the last three years (including regular substitute)
- OR are or have been educators from colleges or universities who have taught or advised a content relevant field within the last three years
- OR hold a degree in the content area and have held professional employment in the content area within the last three years
- Basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse)
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to maintain a confidential work environment
- Eligible to work in the United States
