Job Summary

Develop, troubleshoot, and validate new assays to identify small molecule therapeutics across UCB's therapeutic areas. Generate cell models for screening and mimic disease biology while helping to validate novel biological targets. Maintain accountability for achieving drug project milestones through planning, optimizing, and executing projects. This lab-based role in the Boston R&D Hub requires a BS or MS degree with 4-6 or 2-4 years of research experience, respectively, and 2+ years in cellular and biochemical assay design. Base salary ranges from $86,400 to $113,400 annually. No work authorization sponsorship is available.

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree with 4-6 years or MS degree with 2-4 years of applicable research experience with scientific track record
  • 2+ years of experience with the design, development, optimization, and prosecution of cellular and biochemical assays for identification and evaluation of novel molecular entities
  • Direct hands-on experience with cell and molecular biology techniques and culturing human cell lines
  • Good communicator, with good presentation and organizational skills
  • Scientist who can work with some supervision but also to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • lab-based (non-hybrid)
  • Boston R&D Hub located in Cambridge MA

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with small molecules/ligands/therapeutics
  • Working knowledge or experience with CRISPR screening approaches
  • Knowledge of targeted protein degradation
  • Neuroscience and/or immunology background
