Job Summary

Associate Scientist in the Obesity, Muscle and Metabolism group, focused on developing therapeutics for muscle diseases. Responsibilities include maintaining, expanding, and modulating cells in vitro; generating engineered muscle tissue from primary or iPSC-derived progenitor cells; optimizing cellular assays and readouts for muscle function; handling and processing tissue samples; performing mouse procedures and collecting blood/tissue samples; and analyzing data with ImageJ, FlowJo, Excel, and Prism. You will collaborate across teams and contribute to discovery efforts in muscular dystrophies, myopathies, and myositis, with a bench-science, lab-focused role suited for someone with strong cell biology/physiology background.

Required Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in a relevant field with 1-2 years of experience in muscle biology or related discipline
  • Experience in tissue culture, cell-based assays, flow cytometry, and histology (IHC, IF) is highly preferred
  • Experience in mouse handling is highly preferred
