Job Summary
Associate Scientist II in Oncology focused on supporting delivery research to advance Alnylam’s RNA therapeutics across multiple cancer indications. Responsible for designing, optimizing, and executing cell- and molecular-based experiments to evaluate developmental RNA candidates in relevant in vitro oncology models; conducting immunology-focused cell culture studies and functional assays; performing LNP-mediated transfection and electroporation in immune cell systems; carrying out multicolor flow cytometry for immune profiling and biomarker analysis; processing tissue samples and ex vivo models to assess target engagement and mechanism of action; analyzing and presenting findings within a multidisciplinary Oncology team. Emphasis on excellent documentation practices and collaboration within a fast-paced, onsite Cambridge, MA environment.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or related field with 2-3 years or MS with 1+ years of industry or academic lab experience
- Hands-on experience with primary immune cell and tumor-immune cell co-culture assays
- Experience with nucleic acid-based approaches (RNAi, CRISPR, mRNA, plasmid DNA)
- Proficiency in RT-qPCR, immunofluorescence, multi-color flow cytometry, Incucyte, and ELISA
- Experience with high-throughput screening methods is highly desirable
- This is an on-site lab-based role requiring extensive bench work and collaboration in a fast-paced environment
- Must be a team player with good interpersonal skills
