Job Summary
Conduct analytical testing and development experiments using written procedures to support biopharmaceutical drug candidate projects. Execute method development, analyze data, and write analytical test methods while maintaining good documentation practices. Present results and planned experiments clearly in verbal and written reports to stakeholders. Maintain scientific instruments, troubleshoot problems, and keep the laboratory clean and organized. Follow standard operating procedures and communicate progress regularly to meet agreed-upon timelines. Required Qualifications
- Education in chemistry, biochemistry, or closely related discipline and a B.S.
- 0 – 2 year's of industry experience performing routine testing or developing analytical methods for biotherapeutics
- Strong understanding of physical sciences at the undergraduate level
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Flexibility and outstanding time management skills
- Background maintaining and troubleshooting scientific instruments and equipment
- Mobility to work in a lab and office setting
- Use standard office and lab equipment
- Stamina to sit for extended periods of time
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects
- Vision to read printed materials and computer screens
- Hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using analytical instruments/methods such as chromatography (HPLC/UPLC), electrophoresis (CE, cIEF), spectroscopy (UV/Vis) and ELISA
- Experience using or developing methods to determine the identity, purity, and assay of drug substance and product samples
- Knowledge of the physical and chemical properties of biological polymers (e.g., proteins, RNA, DNA)
- Understand the scientific principles of new analytical techniques as well as the hardware and software needed to operate scientific instruments
