Job Summary
The Associate Scientist I role involves assisting with diverse organic syntheses, purifications, and characterizations, while supporting the production of natural, synthetic, and semi-synthetic products. Responsibilities include optimizing lab procedures, characterizing organic compounds using various methods (TLC, NMR, mass spec, IR, UV), and maintaining accurate documentation and lab safety protocols. The position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, with 2 years of experience preferred, and proficiency in ChemDraw and Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry/relevant field.
- 2 years of experience (with Bachelor’s) or None (with Master’s).

Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency with ChemDraw and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of organic reaction mechanisms and retrosynthetic analysis.
- Solid understanding of stoichiometry and proficiency with associated calculations.
- Experience with thin layer chromatography, column chromatography, recrystallization, and other purification methods.
Additional Requirements
- Availability to work on-site in State College, PA, Monday through Friday.
