Job Summary
Carry out study support procedures and medical treatment regimens for research animals, triage weekend emergencies, and assist in or conduct aseptic surgical procedures. Perform diagnostic radiography, administer anesthetic agents, and maintain accurate records of treatments, inventories, and study data. Collaborate with principal investigators and cross-functional teams to manage study timelines and communicate results while recognizing operational hurdles and proposing solutions. Work independently under supervision to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and uphold an inclusive culture within the laboratory animal science team.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a relevant field OR 5 years of equivalent industry experience
- Animal handling and dosing experience
- Demonstrable passion for animal care and welfare
- Technical and scientific skills and a willingness to understand the R&D process
- Experience with ocular research techniques and imaging equipment
- Ability to independently recognize challenges (technical, scientific, or study-related) and provide relevant input for solution/problem solving
- Proactive, innovative, and solution-oriented mindset
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
