Job Summary
Associate Scientist in the Automation Core responsible for the daily operation and routine maintenance of automated systems (e.g., Hamilton, Opentrons, HighRes) and supporting devices, coordinating sample drop-offs and lab logistics, troubleshooting and maintaining equipment, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows. The role emphasizes independent task execution with guidance, strong organizational/communication skills, problem-solving for system issues, and a proactive mindset to improve processes within a high-throughput laboratory setting. On-site work is required at Regeneron facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in life science or related field
- 0-2 years of industry experience working with automation systems within a laboratory environment
- Experience operating liquid handling instruments (e.g., Hamilton STAR) and knowledge of integrated systems preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently on defined tasks and small projects with guidance from senior colleagues
- Collaborative, cross-functional teamwork in a dynamic research environment
