Associate Scientist at Gelest Inc. supports exploratory reactive chemistry research within the Reactive Chemistry Center of Excellence in the Incubation function. Design, execute, and analyze laboratory experiments; perform synthesis, purification, and characterization of experimental materials; maintain accurate ELN records; collect and interpret data; conduct literature reviews to support project objectives; prepare technical reports and disclosures; collaborate with scientists and engineers to meet incubation milestones; operate lab equipment following safety protocols; ensure compliance with EH&S and regulatory requirements; occasional travel may be required. Requires an MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline with 3+ years of experience, or PhD with 0–1 years of experience; strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary research environment; willingness to work in a chemical processing lab and wear PPE as needed.
