Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Medical Physist, ensure quality of care for radiation sources and imaging equipment while assisting in patient and staff protection. Calibrate all radiation therapy equipment, conduct routine quality control procedures, and verify treatment plan parameters through daily, weekly, and monthly machine checks. Perform spot checks on technical data, design ancillary equipment, and provide consultation to assure accurate dose delivery. Educate personnel on radiation safety practices and brachytherapy care, maintain source inventories, and uphold all regulatory requirements. Complete QA on IMRT/VMAT plans and assist the Chief Physicist during annual machine inspections.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D Required
- at least 5 years experience in the field
- Minimum 2 year of experience in Radiation Therapy
- can include residency experience
- Must be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
- Must have ability to be self-motivated and self-directed
- Must be able to communicate and understand the verbal and written English language
- display a positive attitude
- MEDPHYS - Medical Physicist ABR within 120 Days
