Job Summary
Quality Control Associate responsible for maintaining a Quality Plan aligned with customer specifications and industry standards, verifying conformance to CSA specifications and customer requirements, managing testing/calibration of equipment, maintaining inspection records, examining products for defects, supporting non-conformity investigations, and participating in internal/external audits to meet ISO 9001 standards. The role includes processing sales orders, inventory handling, ERP usage, and contributing to process improvements across QA/QC and supply-chain-related activities. Strong emphasis on reading drawings/datasheets, data-driven decision making, and effective communication with customers and suppliers. Requires experience in quality assurance/control, ISO 9001 familiarity, and proficiency with MS Office and relevant ERP/SCM tools.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or Equivalent
- 2+ years of quality assurance / control experience
- 2+ years of industry experience preferred
- ISO 9001 Auditor experience preferred
- Willingness to work with ERP systems and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, datasheets and technical documentation
- Ability to read test reports and make appropriate and accurate recommendations
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of Supply Chain processes (Sales and Operations Planning, MRP, Forecasting, Demand and Supply Planning, Indirect Procurement, Materials Management and Logistics)
- Experience with supply chain applications (Blue Yonder, JDC, Tools Group, O9, Oracle, SAP, SAS, APO)
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with customers and suppliers
- Aptitude for blending quantitative and qualitative data to tell relevant story
- Multi-tasking ability and project-management skills
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and audits
- Quality planning and process improvement (Lean/6 Sigma)
- Ability to develop or improve internal and external processes and procedures
- Experience with calibration/testing of equipment
- Background in electrical components and high/medium voltage components
- Reading and interpreting drawings, datasheets, and technical documentation
- Excellent MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to explain concepts to non-technical audiences
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to lead cross-functional teams
