Job Summary
Manage and coordinate facility maintenance, rehabilitation, renovation, and infrastructure improvement projects for bus depots and fueling facilities. Lead in-house personnel, contracted vendors, and capital contractors to ensure safe, on-schedule, and compliant project delivery. Coordinate planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and closeout activities while performing site inspections and evaluating facility conditions. Review technical submittals, cost proposals, and change orders to verify compliance with MTA standards. Monitor performance via CMMS and Microsoft Office applications, ensuring adherence to OSHA, FDNY, DEC, and EPA regulations. Support preventive maintenance and reliability initiatives for mechanical systems and fueling infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration
- one year of full time satisfactory experience in project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating, or expediting, for engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience as described in '1' above
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus any combination of college or university education and/or experience described in '1' above to make up the equivalent of five years of education and experience
- One year of experience credit for each 30 semester credits of college or university education leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration
- A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the disciplines described in '1' above
- A Juris Doctor degree
- A valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer, Registered Architect or Registered Landscape Architect
- Valid driver's license with the ability to operate an MTA vehicle
Desired Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, facility maintenance, and industrial infrastructure
- Experience managing contractors and coordinating multidisciplinary projects
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as SPEAR or similar maintenance software
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and construction documents
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, scheduling, and project coordination abilities
- Knowledge of NYCT Department of Buses operating policies and maintenance procedures
- Bus depot or industrial facility maintenance
- Mechanical systems and facility infrastructure
- CNG, LNG, hydrogen, diesel, or alternative fueling systems
- Roll-up doors, fueling systems, pumps, compressors, and utility infrastructure
- Contractor management and construction oversight
- Preventive maintenance planning and reliability programs
- Commissioning and startup of mechanical systems
- Regulatory compliance including OSHA, FDNY, DEC, and EPA
- Supervising unionized maintenance personnel
