Job Summary
The Associate Program Director (APD) for the Internal Medicine Residency Program will lead resident research and scholarly activities, ensuring compliance with ACGME requirements. Responsibilities include mentoring residents and faculty, overseeing Quality Improvement (QI) projects, developing curricula in research methods, and serving as a faculty advisor. Candidates must hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) with board certification in Internal Medicine, and have at least five years of post-residency academic experience, including formal teaching and mentorship.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) with board certification in Internal Medicine (ABIM required)
- Minimum of five (5) years of post-residency academic experience
- Experience in curriculum development, clinical informatics, or quality improvement program design
- Demonstrated track record of scholarly productivity, including peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, or funded research
- Active or eligible for medical licensure in the State of Georgia
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree or certification in Biomedical Informatics, Education, or Public Health
- Prior service as Program Director, Associate Program Director, or Chair of Research/QI Committee
- Two (2) to three (3) years of experience as Core Faculty in an ACGME-accredited residency program
- Recognized involvement in national professional societies (ACGME, ACP, AMIA, HIMSS, or APDIM)
