Job Summary
Associate/Full Professor and Division Chair, Nursing position at Texas A&M University-Texarkana. Provides division leadership, administrative oversight, budgeting, curriculum development, program assessment, and faculty supervision, with responsibilities spanning teaching, research, and service to support East Texas Rural Healthcare initiative. Requires doctoral-level nursing degree, CCNE accreditation background, Texas RN license, and a track record in teaching, scholarly activity, program development, and accreditation. On-site presence up to 100% in Texarkana, TX. Start anticipated September 2026. No sponsorship for work authorization.
Required Qualifications
- Earned Doctorate and a master’s degree in nursing from a CCNE accredited institution
- At least four years of teaching experience in a professional nursing program
- Hold an unencumbered, current license or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas
- Evidence of scholarship and research agenda
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of computer applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database capabilities
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively with all segments of the student population
- Record of teaching excellence
- Demonstrated experience in program and curricular development
- Experience working with CCNE and TBON accreditation
- Demonstrated experience supervising faculty and staff, supporting professional growth, and fostering a collaborative departmental culture
- Qualifications that meet expectations for tenure and Associate rank at TAMUT (TAMUT University T&P Guidelines)
- PhD in nursing or a related field (Preferred Qualifications)
- Eligible for tenure and Full Professor Rank (Preferred)
- Experience with competency-based education programming (Preferred)
- Successful grant acquisitions (Preferred)
- Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours (Required)
