Job Summary
Tenure-track faculty appointment in Indigenous Studies at First Nations University of Canada (Regina Campus). The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and/or graduate Indigenous Studies courses, contribute to curriculum development and program planning, maintain an active program of research or equivalent scholarly activity, advise and mentor students, participate in departmental and university service, and engage with Indigenous communities and Elders/Knowledge Keepers. The position is typically at Assistant Professor with potential consideration for Associate Professor based on qualifications; the successful candidate will teach five courses in the academic year and collaborate on community-engaged initiatives, curriculum development, and service, in a collaborative, First Nations–centered environment. Closing date June 30, 2026.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Indigenous Studies or ABD with confirmed or anticipated completion within two years of appointment start date
- demonstrated subject-matter expertise in Indigenous Studies
- evidence of effective teaching or strong potential for teaching excellence
- a record of, or clear potential for, research, scholarship, or creative activity
- experience working with Indigenous communities, students, organizations, or knowledge systems
- demonstrated commitment to student success
- ability to contribute to the mission and academic priorities of First Nations University of Canada
- for Associate Professor level, normally a completed PhD or terminal degree and stronger record of teaching, research, service, and leadership
