Job Summary
Conceptualize, design, and lead research projects involving ultra-high field MRI, including 7T and 3T systems. Write protocols for IRB-approved studies, acquire and analyze research data, and present findings at national and international conferences. Author manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals while maintaining familiarity with current literature. Foster collaborations with internal and external researchers, supervise fellows and students, and train them in biomedical research methods. Establish and sustain an independent, externally funded research program, providing written progress reports to supervisors, committees, and funding agencies. Deliver service through teaching, mentoring, committee work, manuscript review, and grant evaluation.
Required Qualifications
- Currently in a university faculty role
- Major external grant in relevant area
- PhD in Chemistry
- PhD in Engineering
- PhD in a Related Field
- PhD in Physics
- PhD in Biomedical Science
- Expertise in medical imaging, including knowledge of MRI procedures and protocols
- Demonstrated record of success in scientific research, including peer-reviewed publications
- Outstanding communication skills, including scientific writing, verbal, and interpersonally
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with multidisciplinary investigators
- Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team with group members having varied levels of experience
- Understanding of regulatory requirements in a clinical setting
- Efficient organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail; critical thinking and analytical skills
- Commitment to service and clinical impact of their work
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
