Job Summary
Associate Producer for TODAY Digital responsible for clipping and publishing video from TODAY Broadcast; write engaging, accurate, SEO-friendly headlines, captions, and stories around visual content; maintain and edit metadata; select images and edit media for multiple platforms; advise programming producers on media quality; ensure rights and clearances processes are followed; perform quality control for video distribution on platforms like YouTube, AOL, Hulu, Apple TV, Xfinity and Roku; collaborate with editorial stakeholders; bring strong multimedia storytelling skills and proficiency with non-linear editors (Avid, Final Cut) and Photoshop; familiarity with Wildmoka and digital publishing; requires 2+ years of web-based multimedia production and a Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field; hybrid work arrangement with New York office four days per week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or other discipline emphasizing storytelling and multimedia creation
- At least 2 years of experience producing/editing/promoting multimedia content on the web
- Strong video editing skills across desktop, mobile, tablet and social
- Expertise in non-linear editing systems (e.g., Avid, Final Cut) with a working knowledge of Photoshop
- Proficiency in web-based video publishing programs such as Wildmoka
- Proven news judgment, high ethical standards and strong interpersonal skills
- A high degree of independence, decisiveness, and accountability, with the ability to effectively multitask and work with minimal supervision
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news, and be prepared to work holidays and overtime on short notice
