Job Summary
Associate Producer / Technician (French Services) is responsible for the production, direction, and post-production of Ottawa Morning and may contribute to other English and French programs. Under producer direction, duties include proposing content ideas, developing program objectives, writing texts, researching, editing, preparing scripts, ensuring equipment and personnel readiness, operating and coordinating technical facilities, editing and mixing, ensuring sound quality, evaluating program aspects, potentially directing live or pre-formatted segments, presenting material on air, coordinating interviewees and hosts, conducting research, and preparing contextualizations. Must be bilingual (English/French) and capable of working in a deadline-driven, collaborative, team environment. Required knowledge includes Dalet, iNews, Avid production tools and Lawo production environment; eligibility for a background check. Primary location: Ottawa Production Centre; Shift pattern mainly Monday to Friday 04:30–12:45, with possible weekend work and assignments across English and French programs; on-site role at CBC/Radio-Canada. The position requires a university degree (or equivalent) and several years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from University or equivalent education and three (3) years of practical and relevant experience or graduation from Community College and five (5) years of practical and relevant experience
- Bilingualism (English/French)
- Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to collaborate and work in a team
- Knowledge of Dalet, iNews and Avid production tools
- Knowledge of the Lawo production environment
- Background checks may be conducted
