Job Summary
Develop analytical methods, formulations, and drug-delivery systems for small molecules; serve as a scientific leader within cross-functional project teams, planning and conducting experiments with minimal supervision; generate, evaluate, and present data to project teams and stakeholders, and drive formulation innovations and technology evaluation. Active involvement in novel formulation development; identify and address critical issues during daily operations; present data at internal AstraZeneca meetings and external venues as needed; collaborate with formulators, analytical chemists, chemists, and biologists to align science with business needs; this role requires a PhD (or equivalent) with several years of industry experience and a demonstrated track record in formulation and pre-formulation, analytical characterization, and enabling formulation technologies. In-office working four days per week from the Waltham, MA area is described as part of the role.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Analytical Chemistry, Material Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related scientific disciplines (minimum 3 years post-PhD or 5+ years preferred); or MS with 7+ years industry experience in pharmaceutical/biotech
