Associate Principal Tooling Engineer

Job Summary
Lead tooling design and molding development for Dyson’s tooling and molding operations, coordinating internal teams and external vendors to deliver NPI and sustaining projects from prototype to full production. Oversees tool design, DFM/GA drawings approvals, mold flow analysis, vendor interfacing, and tooling validation, while driving process optimization, cost control, and milestones across high-volume medical molded parts. Requires extensive experience in tool design, molding processes, supplier management, and cross-functional leadership, with strong communication in English and Chinese.
Required Qualifications
- At least 10-15 years of working experience in Tool Design/Machining/Injection tooling and moulding
- Hands-on experience in tool design and selection of steel/hot runner/gating systems
- Injection moulding process knowledge in machine selection, process development, trouble shooting, hot runner selection with respect to application and product requirement
- Experience interpreting 3D CAD files and 2D drawings
- Proven ability to lead molding projects within a cross-functional group with direct responsibility for positive project results
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese
- Ability to work under high pressure and manage multiple priorities
