Job Summary

Own the UCC software and connectivity capability roadmap across embedded software, GUI, operating systems, product security, and device-cloud interfaces. Define maturity steps for each domain, integrate inputs from VOC, complaints, and cybersecurity risks, and lead periodic strategy reviews with clear deliverables and success metrics. Establish architecture principles, modularity strategies, and cybersecurity guardrails to enable reuse across multiple product families. Provide go/no-go guidance on major architecture choices, establish reusable UI patterns, and drive platform-level decisions that improve maintainability and release readiness. Partner with engineering, quality, regulatory, and program teams to translate the roadmap and ensure consistent deployment from product to product.

Required Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in embedded software, medical device software, regulated product development, or software-enabled electromechanical systems with platform reuse across releases
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional software architecture strategy, not only subsystem design or program execution
  • Strong background in systems thinking, software architecture, risk management, design controls, cybersecurity, and technology evaluation
  • Ability to influence without direct authority across software, systems, electrical, quality, regulatory, marketing, operations, cybersecurity, service, and program teams
  • Experience with IEC 62304, FDA-regulated medical devices, product cybersecurity, software risk management, usability/human factors, and connected medical products
  • Experience with embedded C/C++, RTOS or embedded Linux, GUI/application frameworks, mobile or companion applications, BLE/Wi-Fi/Ethernet connectivity, cloud integration, APIs, telemetry, and service/diagnostic tools
  • Experience with software test automation, static analysis, CI/CD, simulators, hardware-in-the-loop/software-in-the-loop testing, and automated regression strategies
  • Experience establishing platform governance, architecture review boards, reusable software modules, interface standards, and reference architectures across multiple product families
  • Experience with hospital-connected systems, consumer-facing connected devices, capital equipment, and/or electromechanical medical platforms
  • Minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week
