Job Summary
Associate Principal, Regulatory Policy supports and works with the Principal of Regulatory Policy and reports to the Executive Director, Head of Government Relations. Responsible for monitoring and analyzing domestic and international regulatory developments affecting OCC, its clearing members, and the U.S. listed options industry; contributing to OCC’s regulatory advocacy strategy; coordinating with Legal, stakeholders, and SMEs on regulatory submissions; leading designated regulatory workstreams end to end; preparing background memos, briefing books, talking points, and presentations for senior leaders; managing comment-letter deadlines and cross-functional inputs; coordinating with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and business units to draft responses; contributing to internal communications and special regulatory projects; and occasional domestic/international travel (~10%). The role requires collaboration across departments, strong regulatory policy knowledge, and the ability to operate in a deadline-driven environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (political science, public policy, finance, economics, communications, or business welcome)
- Three to five or more years (3–5+) of experience required
- Working knowledge of U.S. and international regulatory frameworks applicable to clearing organizations, securities markets, derivatives markets, and securities lending is strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate across departments and manage multiple projects
- Ability to lead and manage multiple complex projects independently
