Job Summary
Lead electrical engineering projects in commercial, retail, and mixed-use sectors, providing senior technical oversight for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems. Act as the Electrical Engineer of Record by reviewing, approving, and sealing deliverables while managing project scope, schedules, and resources from design through closeout. Build strong relationships with owners, developers, and contractors, support business development through proposals and presentations, and mentor engineering staff on resource planning and professional growth. Coordinate with mechanical disciplines for integrated solutions and participate in site reviews and construction meetings. Ensure all designs comply with building codes, client requirements, and sustainability objectives within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Current registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario
- Eight or more years of progressive consulting engineering experience involving electrical building systems
- Strong experience delivering commercial and retail projects
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical distribution, emergency and standby power, lighting, fire alarm, communications, security, and applicable building and electrical codes
- Demonstrated experience leading projects, managing competing priorities, and making sound technical and commercial decisions
- Previous experience mentoring engineers and designers and helping to build effective project teams
- Strong client-facing communication, presentation, proposal, and relationship-management skills
- Commercial awareness and an interest in contributing to business development and practice growth
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with mixed-use, industrial, food-store, distribution, or tenant improvement projects
- Familiarity with Revit, BIM-based project delivery, and modern engineering design workflows
