Job Summary
Associate Portfolio Manager, Private Credit at IMCO located in downtown Toronto. Responsible for overseeing, underwriting, structuring, and monitoring non-investment grade private debt transactions (incl. leveraged loans, infrastructure debt, opportunistic credit, capital solutions, hybrid structures). Duties include leading due diligence, building/analyzing complex financial models, conducting broad research to support investment decisions, generating investment reports/memos and presentation materials, coordinating with risk/tax/legal/finance teams, generating periodic/ad-hoc analyses (Capital IQ, Bloomberg, rating agencies), contributing to ad-hoc projects to expand the Global Credit strategy, and supporting asset monitoring throughout the investment lifecycle. Requires 5+ years in private debt/credit transactions, with a university degree in Business or related field; CFA/MBA assets. Hybrid work model with in-office presence at 16 York Street, Toronto, emphasizes collaboration and stakeholder engagement; strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Base salary CAD 135,000 - 176,000 plus annual incentive plan; regulatory/background checks apply.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Business or a related discipline
- CFA or MBA is an asset
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in private debt/credit, leverage loans, infrastructure debt, high-yield debt, transaction advisory, and/or investment/corporate banking
- Excellent quantitative, analytical, financial modelling, problem-solving and researching skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to interact with internal/external stakeholders
- Demonstrated initiative and teamwork
