Job Summary

Assist in the design and documentation of plumbing systems for building projects, including domestic water, sanitary, storm, natural gas, and specialty piping systems. Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing, and system evaluations under the guidance of senior engineers. Develop plumbing layouts, riser diagrams, schedules, specifications, and construction documents while coordinating with mechanical, electrical, fire protection, structural, and architectural disciplines. Support project development from concept through construction administration, including site visits, field investigations, and reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals. Apply applicable codes, standards, and regulations to ensure accurate and coordinated project deliverables. Utilize Revit and other design tools to develop building information models and engineering documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • 1-3 years of relevant plumbing engineering experience supporting building systems projects.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • Familiarity with plumbing design principles, codes, and standards.
  • Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of construction documents, engineering calculations, and design coordination processes.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet project deadlines.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience designing plumbing systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, higher education, or mixed-use buildings.
  • Familiarity with International Plumbing Code (IPC), Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), and applicable Colorado codes.
  • Experience with BIM coordination and Revit-based project delivery.
  • LEED accreditation or interest in sustainable building design.
  • Previous internship or consulting engineering experience within the AEC industry.
