Job Summary
Associate Planner at U of T Mississauga supports planning, analysis, and management of space across the campus. Responsibilities include gathering and verifying space data, preparing analyses and reports, supporting feasibility assessments, maintaining accurate space information aligned with institutional priorities, coordinating meetings, maintaining records, updating CAD drawings, and creating/editing project documents. Key skills include space planning, project coordination, CAD (AutoCAD/Bluebeam), data analysis, reporting, stakeholder communication, coordination of planning activities, and strong organizational and proofreading abilities. The role emphasizes collaboration with academic and administrative stakeholders to support renovations, capital projects, and operational improvements within Facilities Management & Planning. This is a 14-month term contract with full-time schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced College Diploma (3 years) in Architectural Design/ Technology or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum four years experience in architectural or interior design, space planning, and project coordination
- Experience with handling multiple priorities and projects with conflicting deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and high quality
- Excellent planning coordination, organizational and analytical skills
- Strong background in preparing analysis and generating reports
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written skills, strong proof-reading and editing skills
- Assets (Nonessential): Bachelor of Architecture would be an asset
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Auto CAD, Bluebeam and Adobe Suite
- Familiarity with commercial construction projects would be an asset
- Ability to exercise initiative, tact, discretion, problem-solving skills and work under pressure
