Job Summary
Associate Payload Systems Design Engineer responsible for on-site modification support and liaison/design engineering for Boeing Global Services post-production modifications. Role involves writing, coordinating, and disposition of Installation Deviation Records (IDRs) for airplane modifications, reviewing service requests from airline customers in the Modifications Support queue (BCS), applying Boeing design principles to resolve product and process issues throughout the product lifecycle, performing root-cause analyses for design nonconformances, developing dispositions, and supporting Integrated Product Teams with design reviews. Requires collaboration with suppliers and build partners, and on-site support when core support is unavailable. Basic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and 3+ years of related experience; preferred experience with Model Based Definition, CATIA, ENOVIA, and PDM, plus ability to lead and work independently in a team environment. Location is Long Beach, California, USA.
