Job Summary
Greet visitors and patients in person or via telephone and video conferencing while entering and updating patient demographic, insurance, and financial data to ensure full registration. Obtain applications and forms, confirm signatures, and photocopy or scan documents as needed. Provide financial responsibility information, collect patient liabilities, document amounts, and balance the cash box daily. Coordinate patient admission needs, bed assignments, and tracking boards while working with partnering departments to complete all aspects of the patient encounter. Meet or exceed audit accuracy standards by addressing worklists and error reports timely. Maintain a safe environment complying with policies and report environmental hazards or protocol violations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 6+ months of experience in an office setting, customer service setting (over the phone or face to face), phone support role or call center environment
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Google & Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work full time, 40 hours/week, within a variety of day, evening and night shifts to support a 24/7 department
- Full Flu vaccination
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Candidates located in states that mandate Flu booster doses must also comply with those state requirements
- Must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of registration experience in a hospital or medical setting
- Working knowledge of insurance policies and procedures and patient care settings
- Understanding of medical terminology
