Job Summary
Greet and check in patients, answer phones, and collect co-pays and insurance payments in a fast-paced clinical environment. Process paperwork, verify insurance eligibility and benefits, create price estimates, and gather clinical information for referrals and pre-authorizations. Enter patient data in real-time, collect outstanding balances, and schedule appointments prior to discharge while responding to inquiries with compassion. Maintain knowledge of registration requirements across admitting, outpatient, emergency, maternity, and rehabilitation units. Cover the ER as needed with flexibility for any shift within a 24/7 schedule, including occasional overtime.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1+ years of experience in a hospital, office setting, customer service setting or phone support role
- Intermediate level of proficiency in typing skills
- Ability to work a full-time schedule with any shift during a 24-hour, 7 day a week schedule (to include holidays)
- Access to reliable transportation and a valid US driver's license
- Ability to work a full-time schedule with any shift during a 24-hour, 7 day a week schedule (to include holidays)

Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Experience in a Hospital Patient Registration Department, Physician office or any medical setting
- Experience in insurance reimbursement and financial verification
- Experience in requesting and processing financial payments
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Understanding of insurance policies and procedures
- Ability to perform basic mathematics for financial payments
- Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
