Job Summary
Obtain accurate patient information, perform insurance verification, and collect signatures for required documents. File, fax, and maintain medical records while confirming and scheduling appointments. Answer incoming and outgoing telephone calls promptly, check patients in and out, and manage the front desk in-basket pool. Perform referral documentation and follow-up services, such as scheduling specialist and follow-up appointments. Adhere to Payment Security policies, scan documents, and monitor the fax server. Maintain a work queue list to complete pending actions like referrals and scheduling. Provide effective communication to patients, families, and healthcare professionals through documentation and case conferences. Comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and Sparq standards while working cohesively with the team to achieve financial, clinical, and service goals in a high-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1+ years of computer proficiency experience
- 1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience
- Ability to work independently and as a team, and maintain good judgment and accountability
- Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to speak clearly and concisely
- Ability to understand and interpret information from others
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Must abide by all HIPAA and OSHA requirements
- Must be able to pass a drug test
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience working in medical front office/ Urgent Care position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records
- Basic knowledge of MS Office
- Knowledge of Medical terms
