Job Summary
Greet visitors and patients in person or via telephone/video, entering and updating demographic, insurance, and financial data to ensure full patient registration. Obtain applications and forms, confirming signatures and scanning documents as needed. Provide financial responsibility information, collect liabilities, document amounts, and balance the cash box daily. Collaborate with partnering departments to complete patient encounters, coordinate admissions, bed assignments, and tracking boards, and offer wayfinding assistance. Meet audit accuracy standards by working through worklists and error reports while maintaining a safe environment compliant with policies. This role supports a 24/7 department at Northern Light Health in Pittsfield, Maine, requiring full-time availability across various shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 6+ months of experience in an office setting, customer service setting (over the phone or face to face), phone support role or call center environment
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Google & Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work full time, 40 hours/week, within a variety of day, evening and night shifts to support a 24/7 department
- Full Flu vaccination
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Candidates located in states that mandate Flu booster doses must also comply with those state requirements
- Candidates must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of registration experience in a hospital or medical setting
- Working knowledge of insurance policies and procedures and patient care settings
- Understanding of medical terminology
