Associate Paralegal

Job Summary
Associate Paralegal to support Munich Re America Services’ legal team under supervision of attorneys. Responsibilities include conducting factual and legal research using legal databases, drafting memoranda, agreements, licenses, filings, and responses to law enforcement/regulatory requests (including subpoenas and discovery), organizing and tracking legal/case files and dockets, maintaining corporate minute books and filings, preparing regulatory filings (including annual Holding Company filings and amendments), assisting with OFAC sanctions screening, supporting billing, aiding internal training on legal/compliance matters, and performing general clerical and administrative tasks as directed by supervising attorneys.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Associates’ or Bachelor’s Degree in ABA-approved Paralegal or Legal Studies or related field or equivalent work experience preferred
- Experience: Entry-level to three years of relevant experience
- Certification: Paralegal certificate preferred
- Skills: Self-motivated and action oriented; Strong research, writing, and analytical skills; Effective communicator, orally and in writing, with strong interpersonal skills; Quick learner, self-starter, and works well as a team-player with ability to work independently; In-depth understanding of and experience with legal processes; Ability to manage complexity and prioritize competing tasks in a fast-paced environment with consistently high quality results; Ability to appropriately apply judgment and discretion with sensitive information or in sensitive situations; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Westlaw; Familiarity with insurance industry and legal databases and compliance screening tools preferred
