Job Summary
Associate or Senior Editor for Nature Reviews Physics. Responsibilities include commissioning journal content (narrative Reviews and short opinion pieces), working closely with authors during writing and revision, providing development/editing feedback on first drafts and line edits, organizing and managing peer-review, liaising between authors and internal Art editors to ensure clear visual communication of figures, and writing Research Highlights and other editorial content. The role requires liaising with the scientific community through conferences and visits, and a PhD or equivalent experience in physics (preferably quantum, atomic, astrophysics, or high-energy physics). Strong editing and writing skills, excellent organization, attention to detail, and willingness to travel are essential. The position is full-time, permanent, based in Shanghai, Beijing, or Madrid, with a hybrid work model.
Required Qualifications
- A PhD or equivalent experience in physics, preferably in quantum physics, atomic physics, astrophysics or high-energy physics
- Demonstrable ability to edit text for sense, clarity, factual correctness and language
- Strong writing ability
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel to meet scientists and discuss research and reviews ideas
